Für den 11. und 12. März 2020 hatten wir uns Tickets für Back to the Future - The Musical gekauft. Der 11. März sollte laut einem Insider-Tipp (vielen Dank!) die offizielle Premiere sein weshalb wir dieses Datum gewählt haben.
Eigentlich sollte das Musical bereits 2015 aufgeführt werden, wurde dann jedoch leider gestrichen. Aber jetzt war es endlich soweit und wir flogen nach Manchester, um es im beeindruckenden Opera House sehen zu können.
Um das Musical aus zwei vollkommen unterschiedlichen Perspektiven zu betrachten, saßen wir am 11. März ganz oben im zweiten Stock. Von dort aus konnte man das komplette Geschehen auf der Bühne
verfolgen da man einfach alles sah.
Für den 12. März hatten wir Tickets ganz vorne in der 4. Reihe. So waren wir nochmal ganz nah dran. ^__^

Am 11. März war Steven mit seinem DeLorean am Nachmittag im Piccadilly Gardens anzutreffen. Sein
Auto diente als Vorlage für die Zeitmaschine auf der Bühne. Es wurde im Promotional Video für das Musical verwendet und war zur Weltpremiere anwesend.
Dort hatten wir auch die unglaubliche Gelegenheit, Bob Gale wieder zu sehen.

Wir hatten ihn bereits im Oktober 2019 in Los Angeles treffen dürfen und haben das gemeinsame Foto von damals mitgebracht, um es von ihm signieren zu lassen. :)
For March 11th and 12th, 2020 we had bought tickets for Back to the Future - The
Musical. According to an insider-tip (thank you very much!) March 11th should be the official premiere, which is why we chose this date.
Actually the musical was supposed to be performed in 2015, but then it was unfortunately cancelled. But now the time had finally come and we flew to Manchester to see it in the impressive
Opera House.
To see the musical from two completely different perspectives, we sat at the top of the second floor on March 11th. From there you could watch the whole event on stage because you could see
everything.
For the 12th of March we had tickets in the 4th row in the front. So we were very close again. ^__^

On March 11, Steven and his DeLorean were to be found in Piccadilly Gardens in the
afternoon. His car served as the model for the time machine on stage. It was used in the promotional video for the musical and was present at the world premiere.
There we also had the incredible opportunity to see Bob Gale again.

We had already met him in Los Angeles in October 2019 and brought the photo we had taken together back then to have him sign it. :)

Und dann war es endlich soweit!
Wir hatten unsere Marty McFly (shinzo) und Doc Brown (modellbaubert) Cosplays angezogen und trafen auf tolle weitere Zurück in die Zukunft Fans - teilweise ebenfalls im Cosplay. ^__^
Darunter waren neben Steven Wickenden, Valentin Markowski und Germe Henriey welche wir bereits mittags getroffen haben auch Emma Méligne, Sylvester Ponniah als Marty McFly von 1985, John (Vacanza) Holliday als Doc Brown von 1985, Richard Waters als George McFly von 1955 und Lisa Waters als Lorraine Baines von 1955.
Die Ehrengäste Bob Gale, Robert Zemeckis, Alan Silvestri und Glen Ballard wurden gebührend empfangen.

And then it was finally time!
We had put on our Marty McFly (shinzo) and Doc
Brown (modellbaubert) cosplays and met some more great Back to the Future fans - some of them also in the cosplay. ^__^
Among them were Steven Wickenden, Valentin Markowski and Germe Henriey whom we already met at lunchtime, Emma Méligne, Sylvester Ponniah as Marty McFly from 1985, John (Vacanza) Holliday as Doc
Brown from 1985, Richard Waters as George McFly from 1955 and Lisa Waters as Lorraine Baines from 1955.
The guests of honor Bob Gale, Robert Zemeckis, Alan Silvestri and Glen Ballard were duly received.

Das Musical war wie Marty McFly sagen würde "stark"!
Es war einfach rundum stimmig. Die Charaktere waren super besetzt - die schauspielerische Leistung war grandios!
Im Musical bekommt George McFly etwas mehr Aufmerksamkeit gewidmet und Hugh Coles hat ihn wunderbar gespielt. Auch die Besetzung von Roger Bart als Doc Brown und Olly Dobson als Marty McFly passt einfach. Genauso wie alle anderen Besetzungen. Ein wundervolles Team!
Olly Dobson singt u.A. eine neue Version von "The Power of Love", "Put Your Mind to it" und "Back in Time". Eine sehr passende und kraftvolle Stimme!
Die Geschichte ist so toll umgesetzt worden. Das Bühnenbild ist der Wahnsinn und die Effekte ebenfalls.
Ein Meisterwerk aller Beteiligten mit ein paar unerwarteten Überraschungen. Vielen lieben Dank, dass ihr so viel Herzblut in die Umsetzung gesteckt habt sodass wir dieses brilliante Musical gerne in Erinnerung behalten und noch ganz oft anschauen möchten. :)
Wir möchten das Musical jedem Zurück in die Zukunft Fan wärmstens empfehlen. Und hoffen, es selbst noch einmal sehen zu können sobald es wieder anläuft. ♥
Als krönenden Abschluss haben wir neben einem Autogramm von Robert Zemeckis auf meinem OUTATIME Nummernschild und dem Autogramm von Alan Silvestri auf meiner Ready Player One LP auch noch ein Foto mit Glen Ballard machen können. Alan Silvestri war sehr bedacht darauf, wo er unterschreibt und ich hatte das Gefühl, dass er sich freut, dass ich ein neueres Werk von ihm dabei hatte. Glen Ballard war sehr nett und hat uns sogar gefragt, wie uns das Musical gefallen hat.
The musical was as Marty McFly would say "heavy"!
It was simply harmonious all around. The characters were superbly cast - the acting performance was terrific!
In the musical George McFly gets a little more attention and Hugh Coles played him wonderfully. The cast of Roger Bart as Doc
Brown and Olly Dobson as Marty McFly also fits perfectly. Just like all the other casts. A wonderful team!
Olly Dobson sings a new version of "The Power of Love", "Put Your Mind to it" and "Back in Time" among others. A very fitting and powerful voice!
The story has been realized so well. The stage design is amazing and the effects are great too.
A masterpiece of all involved with a few unexpected surprises. Thank you so much for putting your heart and soul into the realization of this brilliant musical. We would like to remember this
musical and watch it often. :)
We would like to warmly recommend this musical to everyone who is a fan of the future. And we hope to see it again ourselves as soon as it starts up again. ♥
As a crowning finale we were able to get an autograph of Robert Zemeckis on my OUTATIME license plate, an autograph of Alan Silvestri on my Ready Player One LP
and a photo with Glen Ballard. Alan Silvestri was very careful where he signed and I had the feeling that he was happy that I had a newer work of him with me. Glen
Ballard was very nice and even asked us how we liked the musical.

Am zweiten Tag war es extrem windig wie man auf dem einen Foto erkennen kann.. xD
Und wir waren ohne Kostüme im Musical.
Durch den Perspektivenwechsel von gaaaaanz oben auf die 4. Reihe ganz vorne haben wir viele Szenen ganz anders wahr genommen. Wahnsinnig viele Details konnten wir nun aus der Nähe betrachten. Es hat sich sehr gelohnt, das Musical aus diesen extrem unterschiedlichen Winkeln zu sehen.

And we went to the musical without costumes.
Because of the change of perspective from at the top to the 4th row at the very front, we perceived many scenes very differently. We were able to see an incredible amount of details from up
close. It was very worthwhile to see the musical from these extremely different angles.
Zum Abschluss haben wir noch das Plakat am Bahnhof von Manchester fotografiert, welches jedem sofort ins Auge sticht.
An Merchandise habe ich mir das Programmheft, das T-Shirt und einen Wackelbild-Magneten gegönnt. Leider gab es nicht, was ich am Meisten erwartet und gewollt hätte - die CD zum Musical.
Hoffentlich erscheint sie ganz bald. ♥

As merchandise I bought the program booklet, the t-shirt and a bobble magnet. Unfortunately there was not what I expected and wanted most - the
CD of the musical.
